Ammar Hatab, MD, is a board-certified allergist and immunologist who has been practicing since 2005. He works with the Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Associates team in Tampa and Brandon, Florida.
Dr. Hatab received his medical degree from the American University of Beirut in Beirut, Lebanon. After graduating, he completed his internal medicine residency and allergy and immunology fellowship at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.
Before moving to Tampa to join Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Associates, Dr. Hatab worked in private practice in Southern California and Iowa. His prior experience includes starting a thriving allergy practice, teaching medical students and residents, and participating in more than 20 clinical trials as a principal investigator or sub-investigator.
In addition to delivering state-of-the-art care to patients with allergic rhinitis and asthma, Dr. Hatab has special expertise in treating chronic cough, hives, angioedema (swelling episodes), and immunodeficiency disorders.
His practice philosophy is to treat every patient with skill, care, and compassion. "I always strive to treat my patients as if I were treating members of my own family,” he said.
Dr. Hatab is a fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (FAAAAI), a member of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI), and other national and international professional organizations.
